As a middle school student in southeastern Wisconsin, what unfolded on September 11, 2001 initially felt distant and irrelevant to me. Of course, I soon learned the significance of this day in our nation's history. Now, working as a first responder, I know and love the calling of serving others in this capacity. It is a unique role to be there for someone on the worst day of their life and to make every effort to bring light into darkness.
This human spirit and connection was exemplified by our heroes on 9/11 who proceeded towards danger to help those in need. I seek to honor this spirit with professionalism, compassion and honor in my work. I am also proud to raise money for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation to help our heroes in need including first responders, military members, and their families. Please join me on this mission by making a small donation or by volunteering at the Madison Run or another T2T event in your area. Thank you for your support!
